RESIDENTS can enjoy this year's Michaelmas Fair without worrying about parking, after West Berkshire Council announced extended opening hours at the town's multi-storey car parks. The fair will be officially opened at Newbury's Goldwell Park by mayor Kuldip Singh Kang at 6pm tomorrow (Wednesday) and will run until Saturday (October 16).During that time the town's two multi-storey car parks will remain open until 30 minutes after the fair closes. The evening charge of £1, after 6pm, will still apply. The car parks at Northcroft Lane West and Goldwell Park will not be available to visitors as they are being used by fair vehicles. All of the town's other car parks are open 24 hours a day as usual. The district council is also reminding motorists that although the pedestrianised Northbrook Street does not have double yellow lines, no parking is permitted at any time.
