Bagnor playhouse picks up three prizes at the TMA Theatre Awards

THE Watermill Theatre in Bagnor has won three prizes at the Theatrical Management Association (TMA) Awards for regional theatre.
Craig Revel Horwood’s production of Spend Spend Spend! picked up two awards, for Best Musical and Best Supporting Performance in a Musical, presented to Kirsty Hoiles.
Michael Pavelka won Best Set Design for The Merchant of Venice.
In a statement on the theatre’s website, artistic director Hedda Beeby said: “It was a brilliant night for The Watermill and everyone who works for it – the cast, creative team and crew who make the show and of course for our audiences, who support this theatre with such loyalty.
“Craig Revel Horwood, who directed SPEND, SPEND SPEND! and Musical Director Sarah Travis accepted the award on behalf of the team.
“Kirsty Hoiles was over the moon, with her Award for her brilliant interpretation of the young Viv Nicolson in the same show.
“These Awards are very important to us."
Derek Nicholls, president of the TMA, said: “This list of winners is a testament to the sheer talent and creativity at work in theatres across the country. From large scale commercial tours to pioneering children’s theatre, the TMA Theatre Awards celebrate the continued excellence which is at the heart of our industry.”
Nichola McAuliffe hosted the awards presentation at the Lyric Theatre in Hammersmith.
