TRAFFIC lights at the Robin Hood roundabout have been out of action this weekend after two separate road accidents.The first accident occurred on Friday afternoon, when a vehicle collided with the traffic signals column on the southbound carriageway of the A339.The second incident occurred the following day (Saturday), when a vehicle heading northbound hit a different traffic signal column, resulting in all the signals being out of action on Sunday morning.West Berkshire Council spokesman Keith Ulyatt said it was “extremely unfortunate” to have two incidents in the same weekend.However, he added that contractors Siemens have been on site most of the weekend trying to fix the lights and are there again this morning (Monday).Mr Ulyatt said most lights are now working, although the lights at the junction coming off the roundabout and up on the B4009 are still out of action.He said however that traffic monitoring cameras show that traffic was flowing well at the moment and he said it is hoped all the lights will be back on soon.
