NEWBURY will be buzzing with excitement in May as a group of French musical artists are set to perform a live show in Newbury’s Market Place.Musical artists from the street arts group Transe Express interact with the crowd on the ground and play drumming music from the air, suspended from a mobile crane with a trapeze artist. The company, who have performed at international festivals, are being brought to Newbury on Sunday, May 23 by the outdoor arts producer for Newbury Corn Exchange, Simon Chatterton. He said: “It is a great spectacle and I am really pleased to be able to get them here.“This is something that has been staged around the world and we are lucky to bring it to Newbury.“I have seen the company in various countries over the last ten years and I think it will be fantastic for the town.”The event forms part of an outdoor events programme funded by Greenham Common Trust and will take place on the same day as the annual Newbury mayor making ceremony. It is thought that the Bayer 10k run could also take place on the same day, although no date and time has yet been confirmed.
