A local Thatcham gym, Body Bionic, has enlisted the help of its scantily dressed members to produce a charity calendar to raise funds for Cancer Research UK. Body Bionic, which is located in Kennet House on Bath Road, used members of the gym as models for its calendar. Gym members decided to try and raise money for the charity after a friend's son was diagnosed with cancer. With the help of various companies and individuals, they were able to produce the calendar as cheaply as possible including the photography and the actual production so that maximum money could be raised. Owner of Body Bionic Nick Openshaw said that he did not find it hard to convince the gym members to pose for the calendar with one member, Mr March, even wanting to do the shoot naked. Mr Openshaw said: "The calendar is fantastic. "Ten women at a local company said that if Mr April posed in his riding gear they would each buy a calendar, and they did.
