POLICE have made a fresh appeal for witnesses as a man was in a poor but stable condition following a two-car collision on the A339 on Friday (February 15).At around 9am, a white Ford Fiesta travelling southbound between Kingsclere and Headley and a white Citroen Berlingo van travelling in the opposite direction collided near the Star Inn pub.The 63-year-old driver of the Ford was trapped and had to be released by Hampshire Fire and Rescue Service. He was in a critical condition at the North Hampshire Hospital, Basingstoke, on Friday, after suffering multiple chest, abdominal and severe leg injuries.He is due to go for surgery today (Monday).The driver of the Citroen, a 36-year-old woman and her two female passengers, 38 and 40, suffered minor injuries. They were treated in hospital and later released. Everyone involved was from Kingsclere.Acting Sergeant Stephen Taylor from the Farnborough Roads Policing unit said: “This is a fairly busy commuter route connecting Basingstoke and Newbury.
