THE next meeting of the Thatcham Historical Society will be held on Monday, September 29. There will be a talk by Elizabeth Proudman on ‘Jane Austen and her Hampshire family’ at Kennet School in Stoney Lane from 7.30pm until 9pm. Guests will pay £1.50 for the talk but society members can attend for free. Following this, Ken Wells will give a talk on 'Scenes of Crime' on Monday, October 20.
