Harry hammers Hungerford winner

A HARRY Goodger goal was enough to give Hungerford Town their first away win of the season in the Southern League at Chippenham Town on Saturday.

Goodger swivelled to send in a strike that goalkeeper Kent Kauppinen could not hold after 40 minutes.

Controversy surrounded the goal with Chippenham protesting that Hungerford’s Matt Day had stamped on home full back Conor McCormack after winning the ball and setting in motion the move that paid off with the decider.

Otherwise Hungerford’s defence was rarely troubled and the nearest the home side got to an equaliser was when full back Jon Beeden sent in a ...
