Thatcham Town FC resigns from Southern League

THATCHAM Town Football Club has announced its resignation from the Southern League.

A statement from chairman Eric Bailey said: “Thatcham Town Football Club has resigned from the Southern League due to failure in finding a replacement main sponsor for BMG after their 3 year deal ended.

“The 5 week closure of the railway crossing has caused a massive fall in revenue, as well as rising maintenance costs, has left the club with no alternative but to drop to a lower level in an attempt to cut costs and survive.
