Fire at Thatcham business park suspected arson

A FIRE at a Thatcham business park during the early hours of this morning (Wed) was being treated as a suspected arson.

Crew manager Mike Wilson, of Red Watch, Newbury Fire Station said two pumps were called at 2.02am, to Colthrop Business Park, where a Citroen Saxo, situated on top of a shipping container was ablaze, along with the container.

“It was blazing away and up against a building,” said Mr Wilson.

After breaking into both the container and the building to access the fire, firefighters wearing breathing apparatus then used ladders to reach the blaze and a hosereel to extinguish it, preventing ...
