Thatcham Fireworks in search of new venue

THATCHAM’s Firework Display is in search of a new location with just a week until lift-off.  

The event had been scheduled to launch from the Memorial Hall Playing Fields on Saturday, November 8, after organiser Richard Garvie and trustees reached an agreement after weeks of discussion.

However, Mr Garvie contacted the Newbury Weekly News yesterday (Thursday) to say that the event would no longer be held at the field.

The chairman of the Memorial Hall Trustees, Lee Dillon, told NewburyToday that an agreement in principal had been agreed between Mr Garvie and the trustees as long as certain conditions were met.
