NEWBURY Racecourse swung to the sounds of X-Factor stars on Saturday night.Ray Quinn and brothers Andy and Carl Pemberton, from Journey South, were the stars of the first ever Party in the Paddock.More than 5,000 fans enjoyed an evening of racing, before the singing stars took to the stage.Journey South entertained the crowds with a mix of their own songs and some of the covers they performed on the hit TV show, including a selection of tunes by U2, Bon Jovi, The Eagles and The Beatles. They opened their set with a song they had written entitled ‘In Your Eyes’, which was taken from their forthcoming album.Fans also got the chance to hear the song, which they hope will be their next single, ‘End of the World’.And as the sun went down the cheers went up as cheeky King of Swing Ray Quinn took to the stage. He came on to wow the hundreds of teenage fans gathered at the front of the stage with Jailhouse Rock, before going on to sing songs by some of the greats, including Sinatra and Queen.Just taking off his jacket, however, received the biggest cheer of the night. The charismatic teenage star then confessed to have won just £3.80 on the races that evening. He said he’d spent the day in London at the open auditions for the next X-Factor, where more than 15,000 hopefuls had gathered in a bid to enjoy some of the success he is now revelling in.To see exclusive footage of the event click on the video link above. Were you snapped at the party?
