BRITAIN will be going to the polls on Thursday, May 7 for the General Election.

Closer to home, though, on the same day, are the Basingstoke and Deane Borough Council elections.

In our region there will be six constituencies voting – Baughurst and Tadley North; Burghclere, Highclere and St Mary Bourne; Kingsclere; Pamber and Silchester; Tadley Central; and Tadley South.

Here we look at all the candidates who are in the running for the borough council seats.
