Sunday Chalkfest

GET down to the Market Place on Sunday for the town's first Chalkfest, a one-day pavement art competition. It's free to enter and intended for all ages and abilities. Running between 10am and 3pm, Chalkfest, organised by City Arts, has been sponsored by Craftsman Newbury Ltd, which is providing a £50 in-store voucher to the winner of the competition. Judging the pavement-art competition will be local artist Cipriano Martinez. The organisers expect a big crowd and encourage people to get involved, to share their skills or learn a new one, in a friendly atmosphere.
