Letter from the Queen arrives at Burghclere Pre-school

GREAT excitement broke out at Burghclere Pre-school recently when a letter from the Queen arrived.

During the summer, the pre-school, situated at the Portal Hall, Church Lane, decided to make a card for the Queen to mark her 90th birthday, the official date of which this year was Saturday, June 11, although her actual birthday is on April 21.

“We have now had a lovely response,” said  Hayley Lynch, the pre-school manager.

The pre-school received an overall good marking in a 2014 Ofsted report, following a June inspection.

The quality and standards of early years provision were marked good, along with the effectiveness of leadership and management at the pre-school, registered since 1999.
