Easter treat for sick children in hospital

A BIT of Easter cheer will be spread by Newbury-based company Swift next week as it takes the Easter bunny to visit children at two local hospitals.

It is the fourth year that the firm has made the deliveries to children’s wards at the Royal Berkshire Hospital, Reading, and the John Radcliffe Hospital, Oxford.

They will transport the Easter bunny, along with an abundance of chocolate goodies, to the hospitals on Wednesday, April 1, and Thursday, April 2.

Relationship manager at Swift Logistics Group, Phil Tynan, said: “Every year we have so many Easter egg donations and huge support from our wonderful staff and customers.

“The children’s faces, some of whom are very poorly, and also their siblings’ faces, light up when our Easter bunny arrives with baskets full of chocolate – it’s magical.

“We just want to help make a small difference to those families who won’t be able to be at home for Easter.”

Swift will also be delivering to West Berkshire and Oxfordshire Social Services.

n If you or your company would like to donate an Easter egg, please call Swift before Tuesday, March 31, on 0870 24 24 365 and they will send a courier to collect your donations.
