ROMANS, ramblers and bubbles are at the forefront of today's events.

The Roman legionaries will provide an authentic touch to a Palm Sunday procession through Silchester. Led by the Rev Richard Harlow, the procession will include Alfie the donkey, with music by Tadley Concert Brass.

The procession starts from Silchester Village Hall at 9.45am, with a united benefice service at 11am in St Mary's church in the village, all are welcome.

The West Berkshire Ramblers will be setting off on two walks this morning.

The first will begin in the Beacon Hill car park at 9.30am, setting off on a nine-mile walk via Dodd's Farm and Ecchinswell.

An hour later, another group will meet at 10.30am parking 1.25 miles north of East Garston at Oakhedge Copse for a 3.75-mile trek to Whatscombe and South Fawley.

The amazing bubble man will be appearing at Newbury's Corn Exchange today.

Louis Pearl will demonstrate the dynamics of bubbles; conjuring square bubbles, bubbles within bubbles, fog filled bubbles and even people inside bubbles.

Watch his tricks at 11am and 2pm. Tickets cost £10, with £8 concessions.
