Fires in Thatcham reed beds this afternoon (Tuesday) have been put down to a suspected arson.

Two pumps were called at 4pm to Prince Hold Road, off Lower Way, to two separate incidents in undergrowth, 200m apart.

These included a 20m by 10m fire and another 5m by 5m fire.

Firefighters used a portable pump to extinguish the fires, put down to suspected arson, before leaving the scene at 5pm
