A CAR has driven into the front a shop in Wash Common this morning (Wednesday). 

Ambulance crews were called to Martin's Newsagents in Monument Close at 10.32am.

A spokeswoman for the South Central Ambulance, Gill Hodgetts, said that the male driver had sustained minor injuries in the crash and was still being treated at the scene. 

One lady, who arrived at the scene just after the accident and asked not to be named, said that the car had missed the shop assistant by inches and that the front of the shop had been completely smashed in 

"A lot of children and elderly people shop there and it's a miracle no one was hurt," she said.
