A Tilehurst bin fire last night (Tuesday) was put down to a suspected arson.

One pump was called at 11pm from Dee Road Fire Station, Tilehurst, to a wheelie bin on fire on a path at the back of a house in Stour Close.

Firefighters extinguished the fire with a bucket of water and water from a special back pack, before leaving the scene at 11.15pm.

The incident was recorded as a suspected arson by the Royal Berkshire Fire and Rescue Service (RBFRS).
