Picture released of Tadley man killed in Tunisia terror attack

A PICTURE of the 80-year-old Tadley man who lost his life in the Tunisia terror attack last Friday has been released.

David Thompson, of The Green, was one of the British victims of the attack near Sousse.

Friends and neighbours have paid tribute to Mr Thompson, describing him as "friendly, kind and thoughtful".

One neighbour, Claire Chambers said: "David was quite a character. He was a very vibrant man and someone who was very fit and active. He was always out running. You’d never have known he was 80.

“You don’t expect it on your doorstep. It is very sad and very traumatic and all our thoughts are with his partner Anne at this time."

The chairman of Tadley Town Council, David Leeks said: "It’s a very sad thing for Tadley and something I am also very sad about. You don’t really expect it to happen in a small town like ours. Our thoughts go out to his family, friends and neighbours.”

Prime minister David Cameron announced that a minute's silence will be held across the UK on Friday to remember the victims of the attack.
