It's the Ladybugs' ball!

FROM across the years and from as far afield as York, former Hungerford Ladybugs staged a reunion party on Saturday.

The Hungerford mother and toddler group is 45 years old this year and the party was held to mark the event in the town’s Triangle Field.

Around 150 people flocked to relive childhood memories and to meet friends old and new.

One of the founder members who started the group in 1970, Beryl Kellow, attended with her daughter and grandchildren and organiser Charlie Barr said: “It was fantastic – but with the sunshine and a huge bouncy castle, we couldn’t go wrong.

“It was a great turnout, with people from the ‘70s, the ‘80s and ‘90s right up to the present day.

“One woman even came from York to be there and participate in the commemorative group photograph.

Ladybugs – which was originally known as Ladybirds – is funded by the Berkshire Community Foundation.

The group meets during term time at John O’Gaunt School community centre on Fridays between 9.30am and 11.30am and caters for ages up to four years.
