THIS is why the A34 northbound carriageway was closed this morning (Thurs).

Thames Valley Police tweeted this picture, showing the burned out remains of a Range Rover, after the vehicle caught fire between Chieveley and East Ilsley.

The road was closed for a short time but one lane reopened at around 11.30am.

No-one is believed to been hurt.

It caused delays for motorists on both the A34 and A4.
