A Newbury man has been charged in connection with an assault in a town centre bakers. 

Laurie Marckes, aged 21, from Maple Crescent was arrested and charged with assault by beating at Greggs in Northbrook Street yesterday (July 16).

The assault occurred at 9.40am on the same day.

He has been bailed until Thursday, July 30.
