THERE is currently a four-mile queue of traffic on the A34 northbound following an accident this morning.

One lane has been closed between the junction of the A4 and the A339 and there are currently delays of 30 minutes according to Highways England.

Traffic is said to be queuing from Snelsmore to Highclere and normal conditions are not expected until 12.30pm.

A spokeswoman for Thames Valley Police, Charlotte Redman, said that the accident occurred just before 10.16am and involved a lorry and a car.

She said the collision was damage only.
