Police have charged a Pangbourne man for assaulting a police officer on Monday.

Christopher Dillon, aged 36, of Shooters Hill was charged with one count of assault on a constable in execution of his/her duty yesterday (Tuesday).

The charge relates to an offence at Goodboys Lane, Reading on July 27, the same day that Dillon was arrested.

He has been remanded in custody and is due to appear at Reading Magistrates' Court today (Wednesday).
