A question mark remains over the cause of a blazing people carrier between Bucklebury and Frilsham last night (Thursday).

Firefighters from Pangbourne and Newbury fire stations were called at 10pm to an empty blazing people carrier at the side of a country road between Bucklebury and Frilsham.

Firefighters wearing breathing apparatus extinguished the blaze using a hosereel, before leaving the scene after 45 minutes.

No-one was hurt.

Firefighters at the scene said the car could have been either parked, or dumped at the side of the road.

Police were at the scene.

The cause of the blaze was not recorded by the Royal Berkshire Fire and Rescue Service (RBFRS).

Thames Valley Police (TVP) were unable to trace any record of the incident.
