A woman and her dog escaped serious injury after a crash on the M4 today.
The black Vauxhall Corsa collided with the central reservation after swerving to avoid a slowing motorist and then burst into flames.
Luckily the female driver managed to escape the wreckage along with her dog before the fire took hold destroying the car.
The incident occurred at around 2.30pm on the westbound carriageway with all lanes in both direction closed as a result of the smoke which reduced visibility on the stretch of motorway around J12.
Emergency services attended the scene with ambulance crews treating one patient at the road side.
Firecrews from Slough and Dee Road brought the blaze under control before the motorway was reopened at around 3.20pm.
