A Thatcham bin fire during the early hours of this morning (Monday), was put down to a suspected arson. 

One pump from Newbury Fire Station was called at 4.15am to an alleyway between The Moors and Churchgate, where a bin was on fire.

Firefighters extinguished the blaze with three buckets of water, before leaving the scene shortly afterwards.

The incident was recorded as a suspected arson by the Royal Berkshire Fire and Rescue Service (RBFRS).
