A 37-year-old man from Newbury has been arrested on suspicion of burglary in connection with a number of shed and garage break ins.

The arrest is in connection with a report at just after midnight on October 19 from a member of the public, who called police after seeing a man stealing a chainsaw in Newtown Road, Newbury.

When spotted the man discarded the chainsaw and left on a white pedal cycle.

The arrested man has been bailed until November 17.
