A girl was rescued from a locked bedroom in Burghfield this afternoon (Thurs).

Firefighters from Whitley Wood fire station  were called at 1.50pm to Kennet Place, after a faulty door catch resulted in an 11-year-old girl being locked in her bedroom, whilst off school ill.

Firefighters removed the door stop and moved the catch, in order to open the door and release the girl, who was unhurt after her ordeal.

The door and lock were undamaged.

Firefighters left the scene at 2.15pm
