A two-car shunt on the A34 at West Ilsley saw traffic tailbacks of around five miles in rush hour traffic this morning (Wed).

Two pumps were called at 7.30am from Newbury Fire Station to the A34 northbound.

Firefighters gave First Aid to a woman before handing the incident over to paramedics.

One lane was blocked, with traffic tailing back as far as the M4.

Firefighters left the scene after 20 minutes
