A CHILD has been hit by a car in Thatcham.

Station Road was closed following the incident and a young boy has been taken to hospital with leg injuries - which are not life threatening.

The incident happened at 4pm and the road was closed shortly afterwards but it is believed to have since reopened (5.30pm).

The South Central Ambulance Service confirmed a seven or eight year old boy was taken to Oxford's John Radcliffe Hospital.
