Heavy rain causes flooding in East Ilsley

TWO new flood alerts have been issued for different stretches of the River Thames in the Pangbourne area.

The Environment Agency (EA) issued a flood alert at 12.52 pm today (Wed), applicable to the River Thames and tributaries from Days Lock to above Pangbourne.

A second flood alert, affecting a further stretch of the River Thames, from Pangbourne to Purley, remained in place, issued by the EA on Tuesday (Feb 9).

No property flooding is expected.

River levels have been rising slowly in response to recent rainfall, with flooding of low lying land and roads expected this afternoon (Wed).

The forecast for today (Thursday) is mainly dry.

A flood alert affecting the River Pang last week has been lifted.
