At around 9.50pm on Saturday, a white Vauxhall Corsa was travelling southbound just after the junction for Compton when it collided with the central reservation and crossed through the barrier onto the opposite carriageway.

It was then in a collision with a blue BMW 1 Series which was travelling northbound.

Both were taken to the John Radcliffe Hospital for treatment and are currently still in hospital.

Police would like to speak to anyone who witnessed the collision or who has any other information which could help with the appeal.
