MOTORISTS are being warned to expect delays as six weeks of work begins to renew a gas main next week.

SGN - formerly known as Southern Gas Networks before its rebranding - will be carrying out works over the length of Kiln Road in Newbury from July 18 until early September.

Most of the work will be done under two-way temporary traffic lights wherever possible.

However, some work will need to be done under a full road closure.

The first planned closure will be between B4009 Shaw Road and Walton Way from Thursday, July 21.

During the closures, pedestrian and access for emergency vehicles will be maintained.

Those needing access to or from their property or business within the closure will be allowed through as and when it is safe to do so.

These arrangements are flexible and may be subject to change as the works progress.

All enquiries should be directed to Southern Gas Networks on (01252) 353536.
