POLICE have appealed for information after a serious collision on the M4 near junction 12 yesterday (Monday)

According to Thames Valley Police, at around 2.20pm, a black Yamaha motorcycle and a white KIA Carens car were involved in a collision between junctions 11 and 12 westbound, near to the junction 12 slip road at Theale.

The 53-year-old male motorcyclist sustained serious head injuries and was airlifted to the John Radcliffe Hospital.

The 30-year-old male driver of the car and a 29-year-old female passenger sustained minor injuries and were treated by paramedics at the scene.

The road was closed whilst emergency services attended the incident and was reopened by 5.30pm.

An investigation into the collision is underway and police would like to speak to anyone who may have seen the collision or who has any information about it.
