The show is over

THE balloons have ascended here at the Royal County of Berkshire Show marking the end of another year at the Newbury Showground.

The weather stayed kind to allow 12 hot air balloons to take off from the main arena much to the crowd's delight.

Last year the balloon ascent was cancelled on the Sunday due to poor weather, while the spectacle was also called off yesterday.

The balloons were a fitting finale to this year's show with around 60,000 visitors estimated to have come through the gates at the Newbury Showground across the weekend.
