RESURFACING works along the M4 will begin this week resulting in overnight closures along various sections of the motorway.

The eastbound carriageway will be closed from 9pm tonight (Monday, September 19) for two nights to allow for improvement works between junction 13 (Chieveley) and junction 12 (Theale).

The road will open again from 6am.

A diversion will be in place via the A4 Bath Road.

There will also be overnight closures westbound tonight and tomorrow between junction 11 (Reading) to junction 12 (Theale).

The eastbound carriageway between junction 11 and junction 12 will then be closed for three nights from Wednesday (September 21) to Friday (September 23).

Again a clearly signposted diversion along the A4 will be in place.

All closures will be in effect from 9pm to 6am.

Highways England say the works will improve journey times.
