A MAN killed while moving straw bales on a Thatcham farm has been named.

An inquest was opened on Thursday (Sept 22)  into the death of Nigel David Strang, aged 61, of Theale Road, Burghfield.

Mr Strang died last Monday (Sept 19), and at the scene,  following the incident at around 7.15pm, at Henwick Manor Farm, off Tull Way in Thatcham.

Thames Valley Police (TVP) spokeswoman, Lucy Billen, said the man’s death was being treated as unexplained but not suspicious:

"Emergency services attended but sadly the man, who was in his sixties, was declared dead at the scene," said Ms Billen.

The inquest date is yet to be confirmed by the coroner.
