A CURRIDGE field fire throughout the early hours of this morning (Thurs) was put down to a suspected arson.

Two pumps from Newbury Fire Station were called at 2am to the 100m x 3om x 10m field fire at Curridge Green.

A load of stacked straw had fallen onto the road and was moved by firefighters. 

Firefighters remained at the scene until around 8.45am and were returning today to make re-inspections.
