A stretch of the A34 through West Berkshire will be closed overnight this week.

The northbound carriageway will be closed from Speen to Chieveley junctions between 9pm and 6am from tonight (Wednesday) for two nights.

The closure is to allow road markings to be repainted.

A diversion for motorway permitted vehicles will be in place along the A4 to Hungerford, the A338 to the M4, and then east along the M4 back to junction 13.

Non-motorway vehicles should travel east along the A4 into Newbury, then north on the B4009 to Hermitage, and rejoin the A34 via Priors Court Road and Graces Lane.

Chieveley Services can be access from the southbound carriageway of the A34. A signed diversion will be in place.

The A34 slip roads at Highclere will also be closed for road marking on Friday, October 21.

The northbound exit and entry slip roads at the junction will be closed between 9pm and 6am.

Highways England said that clearly signed diversions will be in place via Tot Hill and Speen.
