POLICE are appealing for witnesses after a series of overnight thefts in Newbury this week.

At some point between 11pm on October 6 and 6am on October 7, someone has broken into a property in Western End, Newbury, and stole clothing, a handbag and bank cards.

Between 4pm on October 6 and 3.45pm on October 7, someone has attempted to break into a garage in Craven Road, Newbury.They tried to jemmy open the main rolling door and a side door and window but could not get in.

Overnight on October 7, in Gloucester Road, Newbury, someone has stolen a bicycle from a garage which was not locked.

Between 7pm on October 6 and 6.50am on October 7 someone has gained access to a garden in West Mills by climbing over the wall and they have then broken into a shed and stolen a bicycle.
