Motorbike bursts into flames in Newbury town centre

A MOTORBIKE burst into flames in the centre of Newbury this afternoon (Thursday).

Crowds of onlookers stood in shock as they watched the motorcycle, parked in Bear Lane, become engulfed in flames sending plumes of thick smoke into the air.

Firecrews form Newbury arrived at the incident, which occurred at around 2.30pm, and promptly extinguished the fire before making the scene safe.

The cause of the fire has been put down to a mechanical fault.

No-one was injured in the incident.

    I was an eye witness to the motorbike fire, I felt gutted for the biker as he had no idea what started the fire in his bike
