Town forced into a league break

THATCHAM TOWN face a week of cup action that halts their Hellenic League momentum. in the wake of Monday’s 3-2 win over reigning champions and current leaders Flackwell Heath.

They are at home to New College Swindon in the FA Vase on Saturday and have Didcot Tiown reserves as Tuesday night visitors in the league’s Floodlit Cup. And next Saturday it is a trip to Hastings United in the FA Cup’s First Qualifying Round.

“We’ll have to use the squad wisely,” said co-manager Gareth Thomas whose only real doubt is defender Mark Hughes, who sustaind a gash to the head on Monday.
