GET Berkshire Active has launched an ‘Inspired to Achieve’ fund for athletes of 18 yand under who are hoping to shine in their chosen sport.

Young people from any sport and at any level can apply, but applicants must live in Berkshire and be a member of a sports club in their chosen sport.

A committed to their sport and a strong desire to achieve are the main criteria to enter, and following the November 18 deadline, two successful applicants will be awarded £500 to help cover expenses, such as, kit, training and travel.

This year’s applications will be made through a new Crowdfunding website: http://gba.podiumpartners.org/ where applicants will find a link to an application form via the ‘Create a Campaign’ button.

‘Campaign Goals’, agreed by the nominated athlete must evidence how the funding will remove barriers currently preventing the applicant from excelling in their chosen sport.

An application via this crowdfunding site will allow individuals to raise funds beyond the £500 bursary they may receive from GBA. Further information is available via email to jon.mccann@getberkshireactive.org or by calling Get Berkshire Active on 01628 472851.
