Stefan Brown - two goal bust at Frome

Frome Town 0 Hungerford Town 2

HUNGERFORD coastd back into the Evo Stik League Southern’s Premier Division play-off spots as two goals in the opening 10 minutes from Stefan Brown were enough to see off relegation-worried Frome.

Frome spent the final hour with 10 men after Marcus Mapstone denied Brown a possible hat-trick, when hauling him down on the edge of the area, and Hungerford had a number of other chances to make the margin more comfortable.

Brown’s early double was followed by Garyn Preen and Nat Jarvis hitting the bar, goalkeeper Dan Lloyd-Weston denying Jarvis and Mark Draycott seeng two late efforts go wide when well-placed, while Frome’s Loam Monelle missed an open goal before the interval.

Hungerford have cup action tonight (Monday) when North Leigh are the visitors in the Red Insure League Cup.

Thatcham Town’s Hellenic League trip to Ardley United was a victim of Saturday’s rain but they also have scheduled cup football tonight against Highmoor Ibis at Reading’s Palmer Park in the Berks and Bucks Senior Trophy.
