Match-winner Josh Helmore

Highmoor Ibis 0 Thatcham Town 1

JOSH Helmore’s goal was enough to see Thatcham to a Berks and Bucks Senior Trophy quarter-final tie at Flackwell Heath in the new year after another flash of yellow and red cards at Palmer Park on Monday night.

With new signing Shane Cooper-Clark from Bracknell watching from the stands, Helmore scored the decisive goal aftr 2 minutes from Tom Melldew’s pass.

Chris Rackley denied Highmoor’s Aaron Baker the best chance of a leveller before the home side had Mitchell Paker sent off.

The full quarter-final draw is: Ascot Utd v Abingdon United or Binfield; Flackwell Heath v Thatcham Town; Holmer Green v Milton Utd; Windsor v Newport Pagnell.
