Hungerford head to The Valleys

Garyn Preen

HUNGERFORD TOWN have wounded wings issues as they prepare for another quick one-two of teasing tests.

Former Irish international winger Alan O’Brien suffered a recurrence of a hamstring injury in the first half of Monday night’s throbbing 0-0 draw with Redditch United at Bulpit Lane, and he is a non-starter for Saturday’s trip to Dorchester Town.

And Hungerford are still waiting on recent signing Garyn Preen, who picked up an injury in last week’s FA Trophy win at St Neots and is currently rated 50/50 to play.

Otherwise, Hungerford have no other issues as they prepare to face a Magpies side that is the only one to win a league game at Hungerford this season before entertaining Kings Lynn Town on Monday night.

“The weekends get bigger and bigger,” said manager Bobby Wilkinson. “But this is where little Hungerford have put themselves right now and these games are coming thick and fast every week.”

Thatcham Town are in Hellenic League action at Bracknell Town on Saturday, hoping that recent signing Shane Cooper-Clark will be fit to make his Town debut against his former club.
