Hungerford V Uxbridge

Match-winner Matt Day

Dorchester Town 0 Hungerford Town 1

MATT DAY’S goal was enough to extend Hungerford’s unbeaten run to six games and cement their place in the play-off spots in the Evo Stik League Southern Premier.

Day headed home just before half-time in a game that saw goalkeeper Paul Strudley rarely troubled at the other end.

Dorchester’s Alan Walker-Harris was much the busier, and the visitors - who handed Hungerford their only home league reverse early in the season - and he was beaten when James Clark’s free kick was met by Day close in.

Jake Smeeton went close after the re-start but Hungerford saw out time comfortably and head straight back into league action tonight (Monday) when Kings Lynn Town make the long trek to Bulpit Lane for the first time, with a 7.45pm kick-off.

Thatcham Town's Hellenic League game at Bracknell Town on Saturday was postponed due to an electrical fault at the Larges Lane ground.

Hopefully, the power will be on when Thatcham go to Abingdon United on Tuesday night in the league's Floodlit Cup.
