Town back to league business

THATCHAM Town return to Hellenic League action at home to Milton United on Saturday shorn of one cup distraction after their 3-2 Berks and Bucks Senior Trophy exit at Flackwell Heath on Tuesday night.

Town reshuffled their side and omitted key strikers Shane Cooper-Clark and Jon Bennett but recovered frm a two-goal deficit to pull level, depsite having defender Mark Jame sent off.

But Danny Burnell’s third late third goal took Heath into the semi-finals, to leave Thatcham looking ahead t when the teams meet in a league showdown. again at Wilks Park on February 13.

Before then, Thatcham have dates with bottom six clubs Milton at Waterside Park on Saturday and then Tuffley on their own turf on Tuesday night.
