Foul! Newbury Football Club may fold after council backtracks on replacement ground

NEWBURY FC will be holding a fund-raising day in aid of the Save Newbury Town Football Ground campaign at Faraday Road on Saturday, May 28.

The charity auction and fund-raising event will kick off at 10.30am and will feature a veterans six-a-side tournament and a mini tournament for youngsters and will be followed in the evening by a disco and auction in the clubhouse from 7pm.

Daytime events include a penalty shoot-out contest and sideshows and stalls and admission on the day is free with evening tickets at £5.

Proceeds will go towards the legal costs incurred in the fight with West Berkshire Council to secure the future of football at Faraday Road.
